New TikTok and Instagram features
DIVERSIFIED CONTENTS
In order to diversify content recommendations on both TikTok and Instagram, the last few months saw a couple of new features and algorithm changes. Here is a quick overview of what’s new.

NEW INSTAGRAM FEATURES
Instagram added a new messaging feature for Musik Link Sharing and two new feeds to their portfolio: Favorites and Following! This is going to improve the user experience and reach.

FOLLOWING AND FAVORITES
The Favorite feed combines content from up to 50 of your favorite accounts that you specifically choose for that while the Following feed shows recent posts from all the accounts you follow. Both feeds are in a chronological order so you can easily catch up on what’s new.

NEW TIKTOK FEATURES
Next to broader suggestions and different topics on the For You page, it is now possible to add video links below your TikTok videos. Furthermore TikTok released the Live Center that offers important information, statistics and overall aims to make live streams a more seamless experience.

MUSIC LINK SHARING IN DMs
Music is a huge part of Instagram. With Music Link Sharing in DMs people are able to share and discover music on the platform without having to navigate back and forth between music streaming apps and the IG app. Instagram partnered with music streaming platforms Apple Music and Amazon Music (and soon with Spotify) to more easily enable sharing music links in DMs and talk about it with friends.
