NEWS FROM SPOTIFY!
we´re happy to share the latest updates and announcements from the world´s leading Streaming platform!
1 LYRICS
Spotify is rolling out Lyrics to Free and Premium users globally, giving listeners in-app access to millions of song lyrics in the language that they are sung. Lyrics are a central element of music — and by sharing them with listeners, our goal is to invite them to engage with music in a more meaningful way.
Lyrics will be available for fans across both mobile and television devices. On mobile users will be able to share up to five lines of Lyrics at a time via a sharecard containing the lyrics, song name and artist to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. We’re excited to see how this enables fans to further express themselves through their favorite lyrics, and for artists and songwriters to see which lyrics are resonating with their fans.
To enable Lyrics, Spotify have worked with Musixmatch, the world’s leading music data company, to license these lyrics. Users can access the feature by tapping the “Lyrics” tab at the bottom of their “Now Playing” screen within the app to pull up a full screen of Lyrics that will then be displayed and scroll in real time with the music.
To ensure your lyrics are displayed and to make changes to lyrics artists (and or their teams) will need to be signed up as a verified artist on Musixmatch. More information for signing up is available here.
With this launch, we’re looking forward to continuing to connect fans with the music, songwriters & artists they love.
